I am planning a trip! I want to ride from Florida to Vermont on my white horse. I have to go south for the winter for vitamin D. I have celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis. I cannot absorb vitamin D through my diet because it is a fat absorbable vitamin. The NHI did a study a while back and they found that there is not enough sun in the winter past Boston to be able to get the vitamin D through sunlight. So I am headed south.
I am trying to raise funds on this ride to open a therapeutic riding center here in central Vermont. My mare has been used for therapeutic riding and I have seen the benefits of horse back riding on handicapped children. Riding on this trip will also bring awareness about celiac. Everything I eat must be gluten free. That means I cannot have anything with wheat, rye, barley, or oats. Most of the food on the store shelves have gluten in them.
Here is my wish list for this trip:
1. A ride for my horse and I to Florida!
2. a helmet
3. peacock stirrups
4. electric fencer that runs on D batteries
5. cell phone service and phone
6. prayers
7. places to stop on way back for rest for horse and shower for me
8. Gluten free goodies along the way

I have planned this trip for a while and want to leave after the new year. I have dehydrated food to mail to post offices on the route.

The white mare is the one i am riding! Can u help us on this ride??
